The Love of Fall
I love this time of year for so many different reasons. I love the colors: reds, oranges, yellows, all mixed in with a few dark greens. I love the cool breeze that replaced the scorching hot stiff air of summer that makes exercise more enjoyable. I love the evening darkness that allows me to put my children to bed easier because I can tell them that even the sun went to sleep! I love the start of the school year with all of the kids still excited for the following school day. But, most of all, I love the great harvest of friends and loved ones gardens. (I know, it is really sad that I am not speaking of my own garden...maybe next year!) My hubby's parents grow huge gardens, and have great fruit trees, and they share it ALL! I am even more blessed because they even take their hard earned time to bottle it for me. In the past, I have been able to go help them a couple of times, but this year it has not happened like I wanted it to. They are overly kind, and generous with all that they do. They are amazing examples of what I would like to become! The last time they were here, they gave us a huge box of apples, a box of pears, and a box of peaches. We ate most of the peaches in milkshakes...yummy! And today, I made the first of the many pies that I will make this season! I love making pies. I hardly ever bake anything sweet at all for my family, so they all savor this time of year. So, here is a picture of the apple pie we shared, and a picture of the pie that we have saved for our family to enjoy. Thank you mom and dad, for your hard work. We are all enjoying it!

Photos?? We'll See...
I am going to try to add photos. Let's see how this works. Ah-Ha! I have no idea how I got this photo here, but here it is! This was taken the last week of August this year. We are at my dad's house at a family reunion. We had been playing at the lake all day and were cold. When it was time to give the kids a bath, Bridget and I jumped in too. My two kids are in the center of the photo. Thank goodness for big bathtubs and bubbles!
I need a tutor...
I was sitting here trying to figure out how to post all of my blogging friends/family on my blog. I am having a hard time reading through the how-to list with my kids going crazy around me. Bottom line? If someone can give me a cliff-note version of what to do...I would love it.

To my Hayden Peak Girls...Here I AM!
So, here I am. I am finally part of the blogging community. Wow! This feels so good. I wish I knew what to say that could inspire all of you, as you have done for me! I guess it will start with a thanks to all of my dear friends and family who have made me who I am today. Tonight I sat for hours visiting with women who I taught with for only a few short years and yet we get together once a month to catch up. It is during those monthly dates that I realize how wonderful it is to be a mother, a wife, a friend, a sister...or whatever hat I am wearing at that time. Girls, thanks for your love and your laughter. I am so excited for the cookbook. Liz, you single-handedly hold us all together!
