Sleeping Beauty and Brother too

I love sleeping children, okay, I love them awake too, but sleeping they are so wonderful. Like my friend Becky says, "I fall in love with them all over again when they sleep!" I agree with her completely. Scrubba is a very normal sleeper. We read stories, say prayers, and give a hug and a kiss and in a few short minutes he is sleeping blissfully. KK on the other hand, has her own set of rules. We read some stories, where she insists on sitting in a very specific spot in the chair that leaves me hanging off the edge during the whole thing. Then, she has to find all of the things that she wants in her bed with her, like in the photo, it ended up being the books we read, her baby, and a number of blankets. Once her arms are full of things to sleep with, she has to turn off her light and then she tries to fold her arms around all of the things(..one day i will learn how to infiltrate this thing...) Okay, that was a strange add-in from the hubby, anyway, she fold her arms around all of her things to say her prayers...which are darling to hear! Finally, she leans over to kiss me good-night. I lay her down, and she organizes all of her things and eventually she sleeps. Usually one of us goes in later to clear her crib of the mayhem and allow her some sleeping space. That is how we got this picture. I love her little hand resting on her cheek. I love it even more knowing that my sweet hubby was the one who painted her little finger nails while I was at a meeting. Life is good.

Oh the places we have gone

We just got back from Colorado on Sunday and had a wonderful time. I tried to put the photos on in order, but I am still learning and so things are a little crazy. So, here it goes!
Boys will be boys, and brothers are always brothers! Wrestling is just one of those things that happens when you get these boys together. We did lots of other wonderful things too! We absolutely love our time with these sweet family members! We spent lots of time on our bikes (see next post), and we went to our cousins' football games, ate at a fun restaurant, bought a little motorcycle, but mostly we shared and made so many wonderful memories! Thanks B&S and Kids! We love you tons!
Come on Huz!! You can do it! Can't you?

Well, maybe next time!

Here are my kids hanging out with the two youngest cousins there at Colorado. They are all waiting patiently for the next exciting activity!

K-Kay at the park playing with her favorite thing...DIRT (or in this case, sand) I swear, she loves getting down into the good earth any time she can! I love that she loves to be girly, but can keep up with the boys too!

This is Scrubba playing at the park after the football games! I can honestly say that my kids were exhausted when we left! They don't usually get the chance to play so hard! Our drive home was so easy because they slept so much of it! YIPPEE!

Colorado Continued...

One of our family's favorite places to go is to see our cousins in Colorado! My husband's brother and family live there and they are always so much fun to be around! They have five, very entertaining boys that my kids love to play with. One of the fun activities that we did was go to the BMX race track and ride on it for HOURS! We didn't get to ride on it last year when we were there, and the year before Scrubba wasn't good enough to ride on it! So, this was our family's year! We had small races and tried out all of our tricks. Scrubba was a trooper! Many of the hills were too steep for him to ride up, but he kept at it! I loved riding on it too! I have been kind of nervous on bikes in the past, but I sure enjoyed riding here!

College Roomies

I had the opportunity to see some of my roomies from my 2nd year of college this weekend and it was so fun! I am always amazed at how well friendships can last even through the longest of times. I wondered if we would have anything in common, or if it would be awkward at all, and it wasn't! We stayed out WAY too late, and it was worth every minute of it! We laughed and told our life stories from the last 11 years (wow I am getting old!) and we just enjoyed each other's company! Thanks Greenbrier Girls! You still bring so much joy to my life!

In the ZONE

I am so excited! Yesterday we saw some of Jason's side of the family for a baby blessing. It was so nice to see everyone! That particular cousin of ours is helping me make my business cards, letterhead, etc for my little business of foot zoning! He is even setting me up with a website etc. I can't wait! He is very talented and has done a great job. I am really happy with it all. Then, I got to go visit my zoning teacher and she zoned me and I feel GREAT! I get to zone myself when ever I feel the need, but sometimes it is just nice to have someone else do it!! I felt very pampered! So, I owe a HUGE thanks to Jess and Kara...you are amazing!

Red Ribbon Week

So, I decided to join the PTA this year. I know it is kind of crazy because I only have a child in Kindergarten, but I really wanted to. I do have my reasons though. I taught for five wonderful years, and I was spoiled rotten by the PTA! I just felt like it was my time to give back, and I couldn't think of a better time than NOW! I only have two kids, and I am hoping to add to that number SOMETIME, so time will only be shrinking, not growing right? Anyway, I was put in charge of Red Ribbon Week. I was pretty excited to have a job, and I didn't think it could be that difficult! Well, thank goodness for good friends and a great pta president! I am pretty sure that my sweet friend Becky did most of the hard work, and I know that the pta president spent lots of time helping me wrap up the loose ends! Anyway, it ended up being a great week! I had a lot of fun, and I enjoyed being in the schools again! I was telling one of my teacher friends that works at the school that I loved being there: the smell, the kids, the office staff, I do miss it. But, I love staying home with my little darlings! And, I get to go back every month to help in Scrubba's classroom and help with the pta birthday table for all of the students! Yippee! Jordan School District just can't get rid of me!
